The Department of Data Science prepares graduates for significant roles in the information age and beyond, offering the following degrees:

Bachelor of Science in Data Science

The Bachelor of Science in Data Science at the University of North Texas is designed to meet the rising demand for professionals in data management, big data, and data analytics fields. 

Grad Track

The Grad Track is a program option for students enrolled in the B.S. in Data Science (BSDS) program planning ahead for a graduate program and who wish to pursue the Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) program. A student admitted to the Grad Track program may enroll in six semester credit hours (2 courses) of graduate-level Data Science courses while completing the B.S. in Data Science degree. The credits earned will count first toward the BSDS and then the MSDS degree program.

Master of Science in Data Science

Designed to meet the rising demand for highly skilled data science and data analytics professionals. It prepares students for careers in data science and analytics with a broad knowledge of the required tools, techniques, and methods.

Graduate Academic Certificates

The Graduate Academic Certificate program is intended for who already have a bachelor's or master's degree, and want to develop or enhance their knowledge and skills in a particular area by taking graduate-level courses to receive an academic credential. The certificates can also be completed while students are pursuing a master's degree.

Biomedical Engineering and Data Science

Earn two Master's degrees in two years.
